How to Resolve the Outlook PST cannot be found error

Outlook is the most widely used email application based on desktop rather than browser. Though it is powerful email client yet sometimes its users have to deal with some of issues related to inaccessible data. It has been seen that mostly 2003 and 2007 version of Outlook users face this problem, while opening the Outlook they may be prompted by a message saying Outlook Pst file cannot be found. This is a serious concern as\ users are unable to access the data files.
Reasons For Error:
There could be two reasons for the error which show up on the launch of Outlook. They are:
- Unavailability of destined server: This could be one of the possible reason for the error, when the pst file in which outlook has to deliver the message is on the mail server which is not available.
- Corrupted Target Pst mailbox: Sometimes the Pst file to which Outlook delivers message is corrupted due to which Outlook is unable to locate it.
The error can also take place when the PST files are located on a network drive which is not supported by LAN or WAN link.
Remove PST cannot be found error
To deal with the Cannot found PST error you may follow any of of the procedure listed below depending upon the situation you are facing :-
- Unavailable PST file: When a default profile is unavailable and you want to open a new PST file then go to Open Personal Folders File and click on Open to browse a desired PST and open it.
- Corrupted PST file: When PST is available but then also Outlook keeps on displaying the message of File not found then there is a possibility that data file is corrupted.
